Developed the next-generation browser application used to track compliance certifications of airplane components. Although I was originally hired to create an electronic version of a 'simple' paper form, I was able to convince key stakeholders that replicating an electronic version of an awkward paper process was not actually the best way forward. Despite the rigidity of government decision making I was able to guide the end users to imagine a dramatically improved workflow, of which the paper form (which was mandated by regulation) was merely the output. This process (and the resulting technology) was accepted and implemented across the western region.I was a subcontractor to a subcontractor to a subcontractor to a federal agency. While the project was a ultimately a success, one of the things I learned working here was that the (slow) pace of working in government is not really a good fit for me. I like to drive projects forward as rapidly as possible.
