Newspapers include the Bournemouth Daily Echo, Southern Daily Echo, Dorset Echo and the Isle of White County Press, plus around 25 weeklies.I have my own freelance business, called AfjMedia, where I deliver print products such as newspapers, magazines, brochures and newsletters. I've also worked as a Production Editor for 18 Players – a full service marketing agency offering a range of digital and print content services in sport.Before that, I had 28 years experience on two daily newspapers in various production roles. My last job was working within Reach plc's Shared Content Unit, producing pages for the whole group, including the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Mail, Newcastle Chronicle and OK! and New magazines.Earlier in my career I was part of the teams which converted both the Newcastle Evening Chronicle and Teesside Evening Gazette broadsheet newspapers to a tabloid format and a number of redesigns after that.I was a key member of the Reach plc design team redesigning all the regional newspapers within the group alongside the roll-out of the Content Watch editorial system in 2013/14.I also built and designed the pages for the Shared Content Unit's launch into the ContentWatch system.I have also been a visiting lecturer at Teesside University and the European director for the Society for News Design. I am also chairman of Kader Football Club, Middlesbrough - one of the biggest grassroots clubs in the North East where I have overseen an investment of £850k into its facilities.
