Alan is a corporate Board member and advisor. Alan retired from RBC Capital Markets as Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. Previously he had been a partner with Blair Franklin Capital Partners (2009 to 2011). Up to 2007 Alan held the position of Head, Strategy & Development at RBC Financial Group. In this role, he was responsible for corporate strategy as well as merger, acquisition and development activities for the corporation. He was also Chief Executive Officer, RBC Capital Partners, the private equity investment arm of RBC Financial Group. Alan has been a director of a number of Canadian public and private companies both in financial services and as part of his responsibility for private equity and venture capital investments. He is currently a director of Extendicare Inc. ("EXE" TSX), Mattr (previously Shawcor) “MATR" TSX )," and Home Capital Group (“HCG” TSX).Alan received his B.Com. degree from University of Toronto. He is qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant and also holds the CFA designation. He is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program and holds the designation of ICD.D.Through Shakerhill Partners Ltd.
