As a public company CEO, a Board Director, and Investor, I have focused my efforts to build scalable compounding businesses. I have developed a reputation for leading with empathy, creating effective teams, deploying winning strategy, and fostering culture grounded in a meaningful purpose. My skills were developed on the factory floor, the lab, serving customers, working with some of the smartest people, and by markets in Europe, Asia, and North America. For the last 10 years, my energy has been directed toward the transformation of abcam (Nasdaq:ABC) as its CEO. The results there were cast by a transformation of business model, brand, innovation, quality, customer experience, use of data, upgrade of systems, process, & facilities, and bolt-on acquisitions. The business value was improved by nearly 6x culminating in the sale of the company to Danaher for $5.7b.As I look ahead to the next stage of my career, I hope to continue to work with the best teams - those who are trying to make a difference in the world, who are authentic, who have fun, and are leading innovative companies in life sciences, medtech, data/AL/ML, food, and agriculture. That interest may be fulfilled in non-executive and investor roles in the US and Europe. For the rare and exciting opportunity and amazing team, I’ll consider a CEO or Executive Chairman role. Time is my scarcest resource and I aim to allocate it patiently and wisely. I look forward to the journey.
