ScoopFree features a patented, disposable kitty litter cartridge, which you can leave alone for weeks at a time without handling waste or refilling litter so you can spend more time loving your cat and less time messing with your cat litter.Mr. Cook surveyed the market, identified customer needs and benchmarked competitors to develop the ScoopFree concept, which offers an unprecedented combination of convenience, cleanliness and recurring revenue. Then he founded Lucky Litter LLC to develop, manufacture and sell this innovative pet product. He managed a team of engineers and designers to refine ScoopFree, created a partnership with Clorox (NYSE: CLX) to license the Fresh Step® name and logo, established production relationships in China and secured distribution with Petsmart, Petco and Amazon.com. Together with LUNAR of Palo Alto, California Alan invented the FroliCat Bolt automatic laser toy, which was named “Best in Show” at 2009 Global Pet Expo and has been featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America and CBS Early Show. Today there are seven FroliCat pet toys and each has been recognized with significant consumer and industry accolades.Lucky Litter products are sold in more than 20 countries. Mr. Cook is the lead inventor on over 10 patents covering ScoopFree and FroliCat products, and he successfully led Lucky Litter through intense patent litigation in U.S. International Trade Commission, Eastern District of Texas and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Cook served as President and CEO of Lucky Litter until Radio Systems Corporation acquired the Company on November 30, 2012. This transaction delivered a substantial return to the Company's investors. Subsequently, Alan served as President of the Lucky Litter Products business unit at Petsafe.
