The collection includes the award-winning Belle-V ice cream scoop, bottle opener, and serving spoon set, all known for their striking designs and exceptional craftsmanship.Born from a collaboration with Wharton’s Vice Dean of Innovation, Karl Ulrich, and the world-renowned design firm LUNAR, I led the Kickstarter launch of the Belle-V ice cream scoop achieving 1,300% of its funding goal within 24 hours; sold Belle-V into the Ben & Jerry's Factory Store in Waterbury, VT and numerous museum gift shops; and secured design and utility patents. Belle-V products have earned prestigious honors, including the IDSA International Design Excellence Award, Red Dot Design Award, Spark Design Award, and Good Design Award, and are featured in leading museum stores such as the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. They were even gifted in-person to First Lady Michelle Obama and are enjoyed in the White House!

Alan reinvented the litter box to create ScoopFree, the world’s first fully automated, virtually touch-free self-cleaning, leave-it-and-don’t worry-about it litter system. ScoopFree features a patented, disposable kitty litter cartridge, which you can leave alone for weeks at a time without handling waste or refilling litter so you can spend more time loving your cat and less time messing with your cat litter.Mr. Cook surveyed the market, identified customer needs and benchmarked competitors to develop the ScoopFree concept, which offers an unprecedented combination of convenience, cleanliness and recurring revenue. Then he founded Lucky Litter LLC to develop, manufacture and sell this innovative pet product. He managed a team of engineers and designers to refine ScoopFree, created a partnership with Clorox (NYSE: CLX) to license the Fresh Step® name and logo, established production relationships in China and secured distribution with Petsmart, Petco and Amazon.com. Together with LUNAR of Palo Alto, California Alan invented the FroliCat Bolt automatic laser toy, which was named “Best in Show” at 2009 Global Pet Expo and has been featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America and CBS Early Show. Today there are seven FroliCat pet toys and each has been recognized with significant consumer and industry accolades.Lucky Litter products are sold in more than 20 countries. Mr. Cook is the lead inventor on over 10 patents covering ScoopFree and FroliCat products, and he successfully led Lucky Litter through intense patent litigation in U.S. International Trade Commission, Eastern District of Texas and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Cook served as President and CEO of Lucky Litter until Radio Systems Corporation acquired the Company on November 30, 2012. This transaction delivered a substantial return to the Company's investors. Subsequently, Alan served as President of the Lucky Litter Products business unit at Petsafe.

Mr. Cook recruited and managed the team that built the first generation of Quiet Care® -- a passive monitoring system used to assist in the care of seniors. Tyco International (NYSE: TYC) distributed Quiet Care to consumers through its ADT Security Service subsidiary. Leading heath care institutions and geriatric social services agencies also use Quiet Care. GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) acquired Living Independently Group in December 2009.

ActivityOne.com was an Internet and e-commerce innovator that published an online directory of art classes, dance lessons, sports and enrichment activities within local communities. ActivityOne.com developed Software-as-a-Service technologies that aimed to reduce the costs and hassles associated with finding and registering for activities, marketing events and processing payments online.

Prima Facie provided surveillance systems deployed on public transport buses and trains. Mr. Cook developed the eWitness product concept for an Internet appliance and web-centric video surveillance service. Mr. Cook wrote the business plan, raised seed capital and developed prototypes. Subsequently, eWitness was repositioned as an Internet portal for video records captured by the Company’s mobile surveillance systems. SafetyVision (Houston, TX) acquired Prima Facie in March 2001.

Mr. Cook worked with the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors of Infonautics Corporation (NASDAQ: INFO), an online pioneer and marketer of Internet information services on strategy, new product and business development projects.
