Military Assistant to the senior Army Reserve Officer for Scotland, Northern Ireland and North of England.• Lead staff officer for communication of policy change, including interpretation and impact assessment; responsible for processing of change requirements and for articulating formal recommendations for process improvements • Co-ordinated deployment of 300 Reserve personnel on Operation TOSCA, the British Contingent support to United Nations in Cyprus

Training/Operations Major for a Territorial Army Transport Regiment (the Scottish Transport Regiment). Responsible for strategic planning and training. Including the organisation and execution of a high profile military event (Ex PIPERS TRAIL), designed to promote the Army in Scotland. Coordinated logistic support plan for eleven major and fifty minor public events over a six week period and had primary responsibility for liaison with regional and local authorities, civilian police and all military units.

Commanded a department of 100 specialist personnel. Responsible for the execution of all strategic movements for military personnel throughout North West Europe. Trained and deployed elements for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Planned and coordinated the strategic movement of all personnel and critical equipment by air and surface means.
