    Getting my start as an installer for my family’s heating and air conditioning (HVAC) business in Little Rock, Arkansas, (Airmasters, Inc.), I performed every different aspect of the business including technical service, installation, and fabrication of air conditioning systems and duct systems. I then moved into the areas of residential in-home sales, commercial design and sales, installation management, marketing, sales management, service management, and finally, general management. In 1988, I became GM of the residential division, and in 1992, I assumed the role of GM of the entire company. From 1992 to 1996, I grew the company from 2.5 million in annual sales and marginal profit levels to 7.1 million in annual sales at 10% net pre-tax profit, including the acquisition and integration of 3 competitor companies. In August of 1996, I sold my interests in the HVAC company to Service Experts, Inc., (SEI), and I became GM of my center.
