1. Among a few of senior panel operators who are capable to run all 3 units with each power output up to 495 Mw and steam pressure 26Mpa, responsible for taking any necessary action(s) to ensure safe and efficient operation, startup and shut down of units through ABB 800XA V6 or Emerson Ovation, or Simons T3000 DCS systems 2. Communicate with power dispatch authorities through TMS and ADaMS to restate, change unit load, adjust reactive power, etc. Coordinate field operators’ operation duties. Act as a liaison to outside customers and key contact in emergency. 3. Work as a backup Shift Supervisor (SS) when SS coverage is needed. Coordinate and continuously supervise the safe and efficient operation of all units in the plant according to codes and procedures as set out in ABSA regulations and company policies.4. Working in permit office as a coordinator to issue safety work permits, LOTO (lock out/tag out) certificates in SAP, and conduct hazard analysis to ensure proper equipment or systems are safely isolated for maintenance. Coordinate operation, maintenance and contractors to perform maintenance job safely and efficiently. 5. As a field operator, perform routine inspections, condition monitoring, operations preventive maintenance activities in designated sections. Hang, verify and pick up lock outs, report all near misses and incidents, and maintain log books for the designated areas. Carry out minor repair work as needed. 6. Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per TransAlta guidelines. Notify equipment deficiencies and issues by using SAP system for the designated area.7. Contribute to the continuous development and review of Standard Operation Procedures, preventive maintenance and check sheets. Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments as required for newer operators

The systems I commissioned include a water treatment plant, boiler and turbine systems, an ash handling system, large pumps, large fans, and an air quality control system. 1. Participate in pre-commissioning and get familiar with plant equipment and system layouts, operation principles, and their functionality. Walk down plant equipment and systems, Identify and notify deficiencies and non-conformance, and ensure they are all installed as per the final revision of the approved drawings. 2. Participate individual test (ITs) , Site Acceptance Test (SATs), commissioning, standard operation procedures, PM checklist, and procedures development and revising.3. Carry out ITs to prove the functionality of the equipment under no-energy conditions and ensures that each individual component meets all design standards for standalone operation. 4. Conduct SATs to prove the quality, functionality, and performance of the equipment and systems and their preparedness for operation. Ensure that all equipment meets performance standards and requirements. 5. Operate equipment and systems in service, such as instrumentation air system, water treatment plant, fire system, air compressors, emergency diesel generator, etc. while commissioning other systems. 6. Label pipelines, pumps, fans, fire equipment, and other major devices; hang and verify permanent equipment identification KKS tags. Prepare equipment and system drawings, testing and commissioning documents and reports.7. Played a leading role in plant Air Quality Control System (AQCS) commissioning and start-up, and developed almost all SOPs, PMs, check sheets and other operation guidelines for the area8. Work as the lead operator in the recent keephills 3 Coal to Gas converting project. Participated in return to service checklist development, new natural gas system, modified existing system walk down, acceptance and test run, punch list input and review, integrated commissioning, Startup, and turning.
