Leading the engineering and design of Renewable Natural Gas facilities and Oil & Gas facilities.

Responsible for managing the design and construction of new Biogas Plant projects within the BiogasSolutions Project Execution group of Air Liquide GM&T. Responsibilities included all facets that go into constructing a new facility, including managing: permitting, procurement of major equipment, EPC contracts, stakeholder expectations, project schedule and budget, engineering reviews, Plant and Pipeline construction, startup and commissioning, and final handoff to Operations.In my time at Air Liquide I was responsible for the construction of a new 2,200 scfm Biogas Plant in southern Wisconsin, and successfully carried it from initial design through handoff to Operations as a fully operational plant.

Responsible for managing the engineering and design of multiple Oil & Gas projects, including management of schedule, budget, and scope. The Project Management role included coordination with multiple disciplines, detailed engineering calculations, and quality control from initial design through construction drawings. Projects included Compression Facilities, Wastewater Disposal, Oil Storage Facilities, and Overpressure Protection design for existing facilities.

Responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in multiple Oil & Gas and Waste Recycling projects. The role included managing scope and schedule, coordination, detailed engineering calculations, and quality control from initial design through construction drawings. Projects included Gas Compression Facilities, Wastewater Disposal, Biochar processing, and Overpressure Protection design for existing facilities.

Responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in multiple Oil & Gas projects through design and construction, and performing detailed engineering calculations for Oil and Gas projects in facilities such as: Gas Processing Plants, Compression Facilities, Pipelines, Gathering Systems, and Well Sites. Began as an entry-level engineer and moved up to Project Engineering responsibilities in early 2013.

The goal of my research was to improve existing mechanistic models of threshold velocities at which solid particles in two-phase (gas and liquid) flow begin forming beds at the bottom of horizontal pipes. Empirical tests were conducted with varying combinations of gas and liquid flow, resulting in multiple flow regimes. Experimental variables included pipe diameter, particle size, particle concentration, and liquid viscosity.The improved method of predicting the critical flow rates in two-phase (gas and liquid) flow was very successful at predicting flow requirements at sand concentrations (less than or equal to 1% vol.)

This internship provided me with practical experience in solid mechanics design, thermodynamics, and AutoCAD. I worked on two major projects to improve plant efficiency. The first was a mechanical design to automate a manual process in rubber belt production. The other was calculating the efficiency of steam usage in the plant and various sections of the plant.
