Responsible for all performance management issues and ultimately, very recently, the restructure of the department in line with Heineken’s SHE model making a headcount reduction of 4 across H&S and Environmental functions.Collating, analysing and reviewing of trend analysis to assess state of H&S UK-wide, and identifying the Gap to fill, to meet the three year strategy, with engagement of senior management team to achieve. Responsible for implementing Health & Safety Management system, and dealing with all Health and Safety related issues for a new £50m Manufacturing Plant in Skelmersdale currently employing 700 employees.• Providing planning supervisory advice for the company on small to medium sized internal projects, ensuring the company complies with all CDM regulations.• Working closely with Principle contractors and planning supervisors on £50m major construction project being undertaken by the company, ensuring that health and safety of contractors and employees are not affected by their undertaking.• Completion of daily PTW and Safety audits to ensure contractors are working safely within the letter of the risk assessments and method statements.• The organising of weekly safety meetings with principle contractors health and safety representatives to discuss any issues related to the project. • Provide up to date reports for senior management on a monthly basis.• Control of Walkers snack foods contractors on site through the permit to work system.• Compilation of risk assessments • The writing, implementation and training of safe systems of work.• Accident and incident investigations to establish immediate and basic causes and ensuring that all recommendations are implemented.• Writing and delivering of training programmes such as risk assessment, PTW issuing and behavioural safety awareness training. • Liaise with solicitors and insurance companies with regards to claims made for and against the company. • Ensure company complies with Health and Safety Regulations.• Safety Auditing of both Walkers snack foods and Quaker cereals sites around the UK.• Working closely with all other department such as food safety and quality departments, to reduce duplication and to assist in the company’s goal of achieving safety without compromising quality.
