Virtualization, Networking, Backups, Windows Server Administration

Daily responsibilities include the setup, deploying and maintaining a vSphere 4.0/4.1 environment with ESX 4.0/4.1 servers, as well as standalone ESXi servers running 4.0/4.1/5.0/5.1. Our current ESX hosts are deployed in a multi-cluster environment, with DRS and HA enabled. I have maintained and deployed Dell and EMC iSCSI Storage for the vSphere SAN. I performed the upgrade for Vsphere 4.0 to version 4.1. After taking over management of the VMware environment, stability increased dramatically. In addition I have taken upon myself to setup, deploy and maintain a Cloudstack 4.2 environment with Xenserver 6.0.2/6.2, which we are migrating all of our clients to. I oversee project implementation, management, and planning for new and current clients as well as network and systems documentation for our infrastructure. I’ve installed, monitored, and deployed Windows servers, versions 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and Linux servers,specifically Centos and Ubuntu, in a virtualized environment. I performed physical to virtual conversions with VMware converter, Doubletake and Acronis. I currently manage our physical infrastructure of Dell Poweredge and white box servers at our downtown data center, along with our Dell switches and Cisco firewall. I am also responsible for backup and disaster recovery including, deploying, restoring and troubleshooting solutions from Acronis, Double Take, VEEAM, Shadow Protect and CA ARCserve. My current position requires a constant ability to learn, understand, and deploy new applications and solutions rapidly as well as evaluate and understand business processes.

My responsibilities included, providing desktop and server support for small business owners remotely and on-site as a Managed Services Provider. I also provided desktop, laptop and server hardware support. One of my main responsibilities were setting up and supporting Windows Server 2003 - 2008 R2. Was additionally responsible for network setup and support with Sonicwall Firewalls and Dell Switches. Documentation and Ticketing were heavily emphasized in day to day operations.
