Restructured and re-planned the programme and secured executive approval for the recovery plan and funding. Managed Ministry, contract and vendor teams to deliver four multi-million dollar projects; Desktop Transformation, Server & Data Transformation, Applications Remediation and NTS Remediation.Improved the resilience of the Ministry’s key ICT infrastructure - transitioned 11 large business applications to virtualised Blade / Linux platforms, upgraded network security and migrated the Ministry’s core business systems to new, fully supported technologies. In 2011, managed eight major concurrent projects with complex requirements and dependencies; spanning infrastructure, application, security and network changes.

Managed the solution architecture, development, support and maintenance of over 200 applications, from enterprise-scale case management, debt collection and management systems that underpin NZ courts to small, rapidly built business applications.Delivered the application services component of the Ministry’s annual ICT work programme of $33 million. Ensured the development of solutions aligned to business needs and the delivery of development, support and maintenance services.Managed the implementation of agile project delivery and rapid Java application development approaches based on Scrum, used successfully by the TCM and MLGIS projects. Initiated the development of a light weight Java development framework, automated testing and DevOps. Established agile development teams that cut development time and cost for new Tribunal systems by 75%.
