I am part of a team of five students and the civic engagement director on campus, we host and plan events to help organize student involvement in civic engagement opportunities in our local community. We also act as mediators in our Student Leadership Center on campus which houses clubs and organizations apply to use a leadership suite for a meeting place for their club. Each of us are assigned to a few of these to watch over and help when necessary. Our main goal on campus is to link the students to civic engagement in our community. My specific position is the treasurer of the office,a role I feel fits my style very well. In this position I manage our budget of over $10,000 over the course of two semester. I also coordinate our mini grants which we award to clubs and organizations on campus attempting to hold civically engaging events but do not have proper funds.
