I worked for the Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement at the local elementary school, Tyson-Schoener in Reading, PA. I was a tutor to second grade students in and in-school and after school program. During the in-school time, I work with a select few kids that have difficulty with handwriting. We work on various strategies to improve their handwriting by looking at pencil grip, pencil control, posture, baseline adherence, letter placement (tall, short, sinking letters), spacing between words. During the after school program, I provide homework help with math, spelling, and reading. We also do many fun activities with the kids such as arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and educational activities.
