As a digital technology graduate within Edrington, I am fortunate to be able to experience three roles within the technology department. My first rotation sat within the Global Digital Technology team, where I worked on Python and Azure Databricks to develop an automated system for the business. Using Python as my primary tool for this project allowed me to analyse relevant data using both Pandas and Matplotlib libraries, it also allowed me to develop the automation functions that were required for the model.My current rotation sits with the Strategic Business Partners team. Here I work as a Business Partner, which has a large focus on providing technical support to the business. The first project I undertook in this role was project manager of an Innovation Hackathon, that was held within the technology department at Edrington. This event aimed to evoke creativity and innovation among the department, whilst also stimulating cross-functional collaboration among our four teams. Since then, I have worked on reporting through PowerBI, I am currently helping to develop a new intranet site, and most recently I am working along side the Business Analysts within the team, to gain valuable experience in BA Capabilities. I look forward to what the next year has to offer during my time as a technology graduate.

Gathering and analysing data from various departments is crucial for launching new products successfully. In this role, I collaborated closely with Packing Technologists on four projects, including the re-release of Edrington's special edition whisky, Macallan – A Night on Earth. We utilize SAP software to organize and store our data, allowing us to create Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) for each product aspect. These SKUs are then compiled into a Bill of Materials (BOM) for final production and distribution to the associated market. My exceptional work ethic and time management skills on this project even caught the attention of another department, earning me some well-deserved praise.Working closely with our technology and consultancy service, Capgemini, I often handle change requests for our software. These requests can have a significant impact on the company, and recently, my team and I have been working with Capgemini to enhance our SKU creation process on SAP and troubleshoot related issues.As a part of my responsibilities, I created KPI reports for my department. These reports provide a detailed overview of our department's performance. By using this approach, I was able to identify areas that require improvement and share them with senior management. This has led to more appropriate training and development opportunities for the team, paving the way for future growth.
