I loved to read, so I got an English degree. I chose teaching because I decided it was my only option. Then I began to teach, and everything I wanted to achieve fell at my feet. I love teaching. I primarily teacher advanced placement students, but really, just put a kid in front of me and I'll love it. My highest achievement, I guess, is the way I've molded my classroom culture over the years. It's a place of honesty, a place of equity and community, and it's a place of rest. We work hard, smart, and then we take some time to breathe. I could tell you all the certifications I have, the fact i've been department head at 4 of the 5 schools I've been at, ELAR lead, wrote curriculum, and I was even invited to speak at TAGT with Knowsys. That's all great, but the best things about my career has been my relationships with the kids. They're my best achievement. They're my legacy.
