About Alanna Sethi

As the Founder & CEO of HOPE (Helping Our Planet Earth), Alanna Sethi is an award-winning mental health consultant and certified yoga and meditation instructor from Hong Kong. With over 5 years of experience in youth work, Alanna has worked with young people with diverse backgrounds to provide psychoeducation and mental health programming for prevention and early intervention. She is also a mental health researcher pursuing a BSc in Psychology (Hons) at the University of Toronto, where she investigates accessible solutions such as mindfulness, and barriers to support such as difficulties in having mental health conversations. She has undergone additional continuing education training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, First Aid (Physical Health, Mental Health, and Suicide) and Canadian Standard Training in Accessibility (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act). She is also a Circl Future Leader Candidate for their accredited Leader Coach program due to graduate in January 2025. For her exceptional achievements, in 2024 she was named one of the Top 10 Finalists for the Chegg.org $100,000 Global Student Prize, Global Citizen Youth Leaders Award, Scholar-in-Residence, Laidlaw Leadership and Research Scholar, and Dean's List Scholar. Other achievements include being a 2023 Liv Magazine Platinum Youth Wellness Mentor of the Year and receiving the 2022 Women of Wellness: Changemaker Award among others.
