    * Ported DCE/DFS product to RedHat Linux. This product provides secure rpc and a distrbuted file system in a cross-platform environment with over a million lines of code. User space components include rpc, security, naming, and time services. Created and implemented a model for the DFS filesystem kernel module. It was begun with RedHat 7.1, and extended to the latest Enterprise Linux as well as a 64-bit version. The code was multi-threaded, both on the user and kernel side, so it was necessary to provide equivalent services for the kernel module.Source code maintenance was handled via Clearcase, as in previous jobs.* Handled customer support for this product. I frequently used Perl to automate bug analysis. Set up bugzilla for bug tracking.* Provided support for Compaq Tru64-based DCE product.* Set up and maintained Linux server with raid array for home directories. Established ssh/ppp vpn for work from home. This same technique was used for debug of some customer sites.

Greatly enhanced database surgeon for repair of CDS data corruption.* Worked closely with customer support to resolve critical customer bugs, identifying failures in CDS, RPC, time and security components.* Produced prototype Windows NT server using Microsoft tools. This server provided a gateway between DCE CDS and LDAP through the Windows NT 5.0 Advanced Directory Service (ADS).

I completed a Custom Product Engineering job to design a combined device driver and IP gateway interface to a CNT LanLord Network Processor. This driver had system-specific hooks to work on MASSCOMP products through a DR-11W emulator, and also ELXSI's 6400 series systems through their PIC I/O Processor. Deliverables were source and binary kits for the driver, user library and utilities, installation and user documentation, and an internals specification.
