I retired from my role as Bankwest Chief Economist in 2020 after 31 years, having joined as an economic research officer early in 1989 and stepping up as economist the following year - just in time to grapple with the recession Paul Keating said we had to have!My responsibilities included advising Bankwest and its clients on the implications of economic and financial market trends, publishing Bankwest Economic Updates, and frequent presentions at industry seminars.Previous to Bankwest, I worked for what is now the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia (CCIWA). I hold a degree in financial management and economics from Curtin University and a graduate diploma in applied corporate finance and investment from Finsia.I’m a professional member of the WA branch of the Economic Society of Australia, and an Adjunct Professor in the faculty of Business & Law at Curtin University. I am a foundation member of D-DADS and a board member of Developmental Disability WA (DDWA).Born and bred in Perth, I’m married with two daughters. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and biking - particularly in the Darling Range.
