Unfortunately, due to a combination of physical injury and bad luck, I had fallen behind in training and was honourably discharged with exemplary conduct in February the following year. Whilst this was to be the first major setback in my career, I will always be grateful for the opportunity to attend and for the lessons in leadership, determination and moral example that I learned while here. I still actively support veterans charities and the military community in general.
