Communications expert, political adviser, commentator and award-winning former national journalist. With strong contacts across Scottish and UK public life, in the media, and with policymakers, I bring these skills and experience to assist individuals, companies and organisations in crafting and delivering their communications strategy.I have worked in and around Scottish politics and the media for two decades. I am a former director of communications for the Scottish Labour Party, which included overseeing the 2017 General Election campaign, and served as the most senior adviser to leading politicians including Anas Sarwar MSP and Ian Murray MP. Before working for the Labour Party, I was Scottish political editor of the Daily Mail newspaper, reporting from the House of Commons and the Scottish Parliament for eight years. During this time I was secretary of the Scottish Parliamentary Journalists’ Association and a multiple winner at the Scottish Press Awards. Before joining the Mail, I was a senior reporter at the Edinburgh Evening News.
