As Technical Lead of the Australian Road Assessment Program (AusRAP), I am passionate in assisting our members to optimise their efforts to proactively reduce and manage road safety risk across their road networks. This role works closely with partners and members to deliver on the AusRAP Strategy & Business Plan (2023-2025) which has the goal of achieving at least 80% of travel on 3-star or better roads by 2030.This role applies my economic background with my professional road safety capacity and ongoing educational objectives in data analysis and systems - especially geographic information systems (GIS).I graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2016 with a Bachelor of Economics (BEc) consisting of a double major in Economic Analysis and Finance. From 2018 to 2023 I progressed through various roles with the Department of State Growth, focusing on road safety, licensing and business improvement, culminating to a managerial position focusing on road infrastructure safety, speed management policy, and road safety performance reporting. As a manager, I am a strong advocate for enabling my team/s through development opportunities but also encourage sustainability and an equitable and inclusive workplace. In 2022, I began my post-graduate studies in data science through La Trobe University to improve my understanding and application of databases and data management. This has since led me to further informal studies (many via LinkedIn Learning) around data and geospatial analysis products such as PowerBI and Esri's ArcGIS suite of products (ArcGIS Pro and AGOL primarily).
