I am Of Counsel with the Columbus law firm of Carlile, Patchen & Murphy with an emphasis in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, income taxation of trusts and estates, and probate. I also have been and am an adjunct professor at Capital University School of Law where I teach Drafting for Estate Planning and Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates.While I have authored numerous articles and books in the area of tax and estate planning, I also am a writer of non-legal books. I recently had my first non-legal book published by Brighton Publishing. The book, Thirteen Truths About God and Life, is an exploration of many theological issues and is intended to provoke the reader into thinking about his or her own beliefs. In collaboration with my son Daniel, I expect to have a second book published and available some time in 2015 hopefully. This book, tentatively titled "The Scroll" is a novel about archaeologists who discover an ancient writing that holds serious consequences for Christianity. The Russians and the Vatican both want to obtain the writing and the heroes are chased across Europe as they try to elude their chasers and determine what to do with their startling discovery.I also have a blog, The Examined Life, where I discuss matters religious, philosophical, and political.
