• As pastor my role was to lead people in their walk with Christ, encourage them to share their faith with others, and to equip them in these roles. This was done through the preaching and teaching of the Bible, modeling the faith for those watching, and counseling in times of need.• I spent a great deal of time with our youth, mentoring them as I could, encouraging them to pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ and to share their faith with their friends.• I also was required to be personally faithful in sharing my own faith as both an example to others, but also an obedient follower of Christ myself, not exempt from any level of service, however humble it might be, just because I was a pastor. In fact, I took my position to mean that I was doubly responsible for the lowliest calling of a Christian, taking any form of obedience to my Savior as the greatest honor.• As a bi-vocational pastor, I was also forced into the world where my faith was to manifest itself in both my words and my work.
