Alan has extensive experience in industrial electrical project work with a particular emphasis on plant control and automation systems.Working on many projects, he has been responsible for electrical and control systems design, implementation, testing and commissioning, including project investigation, conceptual design, cost estimation, preparation of specifications and proposals, reports, manuals and training materials.Alan has project managed design and automation projects in accordance with quality systems and procedures, including project and labour scheduling, project performance monitoring and staff supervision.He is familiar with plant instrumentation, variable speed drives, soft starters, PLC/SCADA and other electrical equipment and systems. He also has experience in Hazardous Area design and documentation.Alan has worked on a variety of projects in the mining, minerals processing, sugar, water and other industries for EPCM contractors and consultants, system integrators and end users.In recent years, Alan has been working in the ITS sector, particularly with the implementation of FLIR thermal and visual traffic sensors and automatic incident detection systems.
