For small businesses and start-up I review business plans and work closely with them during the vital first few years. I am totally hands on and enjoy the flexibility the range of work that arises.

My business specialises in providing business solutions through consultancy, interim management or short-term contracts. We focus on companies who wish to refocus and re-energise through project or change management initiatives. In addition to consultancy advice we can go the next step and provide practical support in the implementation. Significant previous experience in business restructures, business closures, creating new ventures, and take-overs/mergers. Wide skill base including project & change management,strategy and the range of full marketing and comms services.

Merged 3 separate marketing teams and re-focused the business emphasis to delivering local initiatives within a strategic framework. In addition initiated several major marketing campaigns and provided self-support marketing tools to the front line sales teams in Lombard and RBS/NatWest in order to increase the ratio of sales income to marketing cost. Instigated innovative relationship building concepts including audio economic seminars for SME business customers. Remit covered Marketing, PR & Media, Events & Hospitality, Digital Media and Internal/External Communications.

Responsible for devising and implementing two high profile strategic business projects. Firstly establishing a new offshore sales operation in Gibraltar including liaison with Gibraltar government & regulators to establish the necessary legal framework and then planning its implementation. This is now a successful business unit. Secondly leading a project for a joint consumer finance offering requested by a major supermarket chain. This was progressed to pilot but was not progressed by mutual agreement.

Restructured two teams into one unit and refocused to align to support business priorities. Unit's remit expanded to cover all of Lombard. Delivered on major programmes such as Business Stability as well as business as usual process and technology changes. Achieved one of the highest team scores in Lombard in the half yearly 'climate scan' surveys.

Initiated deliverables within the RBS subsidiary Lombard to redirect its marketing focus to a customer relationship approach from its previus transaction led direction. Maximised awareness of brand, products and service through intelligent and innovative use of budget. Utilised electronic based marketing initiatives including internet, WAN and palm channels. Involved front line sales staff to achieve buy-in and optimum use of resources.
