Alan Landers’ career in OD and Training spans 46 years. It includes executive leadership positions in multinational organizations and 30+ years heading an OD consulting firm. Alan now leads the OD & Change Leadership Group and is an adjunct instructor with the Peter Drucker Graduate School of Management who created and delivers the World's Most Comprehensive Certificate Program in OD & Change Leadership.Alan’s 40+ years of OD and change leadership experience began in 1978, after serving in the USAF as a Chinese linguist and intelligence specialist. That's when he joined the City of San Diego’s OD and Training Department. Nine years later, he became a senior consultant with University Associates, a global OD & HRD consulting firm. He facilitated workshops and led OD interventions around the globe. In 1989, Alan founded FirstStep OD & Training, an independent consulting firm. His client list includes FORTUNE 50s, non-profits, government agencies, and a variety of industries ranging from hospitals to chemical plants, to automakers, high-tech companies, the financial services industry, and universities across the U.S. and abroad.At different times in his career, Alan took corporate VP positions to head training or organization effectiveness functions. He has a Master’s in Human Resources Development and a post-graduate certificate in instructional design & media. He’s written and produced professional training videos on a number of topics and even managed an in-house television studio producing custom training programs. Alan is a former chapter President of ATD San Diego and founder of the Online OD Chat Group with over 220 members from around the globe. The OD Chat Group hosts monthly presentations by renowned OD thought leaders. His executive-level seminars have been offered at universities across the U.S. Today, in addition to heading the Landers Consulting Group, Alan is CEO of FirstStep Communications, a BPO company with its operations center in Islamabad, PK.
