I am an experienced AI, Privacy and Data Security, Cybersecurity, Open Source, IP, Product, and Regulatory Counsel. I have expertise in multiple areas for tech companies and startups including patents, copyright, open source, regulatory compliance, privacy, AI, and data security. I also am an expert in legal matters related to product lifecycle from conception to end-of-life including complex commercial contracts with vendors and manufacturers, royalty licensing and audits, end user licensing, crisis management and response, marketing review with coverage of over 200 products lines ranging from silicon, software and software-as-a-service, with wide experiences from litigation to transactional work including M&A diligence. I have deep experience with building cross functional boards to manage company-wide issues across multiple companies. This includes building and chairing a cross functional board of senior organization representatives to decide and apply policy and procedural across the company (e.g., Open Source Council/Data Governance). To support such programs, I have put together and successfully delivered in-person and online mandatory training programs for over 2,000 trainees around the globe both pre and post-covid. Lastly, I have managed a small team handling open source, contract management, and compliance training.Originally a software engineer with experience in product and data security including malware and vulnerability research, I have a demonstrated ability to communicate with engineering and business teams and leaders regarding the latest technology and concepts such as machine learning/generative AI, autonomous vehicles, and the Internet of Things. In my spare time, I am an active open source contributor (e.g., IOT home automation, VR gaming)and also an avid gamer.
