I’m an experienced security professional with over 15 years experience across infrastructure, networks and security, working with SLAs, KPIs and ITIL. I currently hold several qualifications including CISSP and CCNA. I always look to increase my knowledge and skill set, this can be seen from my training, development & employment progression. I’m organised, I strive for efficiency and work well as part of a team. I learn new things quickly and am able to apply them to the environment I work in, which gives me great self motivation and productivity. I've gained several certifications outside of work through self-study. Most recently obtaining CISSP certification after passing the exam and successfully going through the accreditation process. I’m currently studying the Offensive Security PEN-100/200 online courses, which has given me hands-on experience with penetration testing and scripting with Python/Bash, with the long term goal of obtaining OSCP certification. I also recently attended the Mastering security administration with Microsoft 365 Defender QA course, to gain a deeper understanding of the Defender XDR suite. All with the aim of further developing my skill set, experience, further qualifications and to maintain my CISSP certification with CPE credits.I have been involved in many successful changes/projects in my senior roles, gaining a vast amount of experience across many infrastructure areas, but specialising in networking and most recently cyber security. Using my skills, experience, training, threat intelligence and feedback from independant security assessments to improve security posture, working towards achieving Cyber Essentials Plus, complying with PSN code of connection, PCI DSS, GDPR regulations and moving towards a zero-trust architecture.I use a logical/methodical approach in my work, this gives me excellent problem solving skills when investigating security incidents and the ability to understand & integrate new technologies into an environment to improve security posture.
