I have been working with the e-cargobikes team since 2017, supporting the development and launch of their electric cargo bike grocery delivery service. This has included providing logistics and market place insights, working on government funded development projects (thanks to the DfT), becoming and investor and sitting on the board. The service has the potential to be transformative for air quality and congestion as well as for consumers where same day delivery becomes possible in cities and towns.

Following the integration of my company LCP Consulting with Bearing Point following our acquisition last year I actedf as a Senior Advisor. Special interests are the impact of Brexit on Supply Chain, City and Urban Logistics, Defence Supply Chains and Humanitarian Relief

I founded LCP in 1985 and have taken it with the current team to be the leading independent advisory firm in its specialisation of operations, supply chain and logistics. We work internationally with companies across retailing, manufacturing (health, high tech, chemicals, engineering and fmcg), venture capital, service provision and in the public sector. LCP has consulted with and supported more than 500 companies in its history. Our work is grounded in fact-based analysis and diagnosis of supply chain performance and the implementation of complex change through people and processes.It has been really exciting over the years to see our work with companies really make a difference to their performance and be sustainable. The great client relationships which are often long term have been professionally and personally fulfilling, as have been the superb people that work in and with LCP. In March 2017 we became part of the Bearing Point and I am looking forward to contributing to the next stage of the firm's success.The thinking and disciplines of Supply Chain Management have emerged during my working life and I have been privileged to be part of that. My cooperation with The Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management has been a core part of grounding our work in robust principles, as well contributing through our on-the-ground experience. We have recruited many Masters Graduates over the years and then see their careers develop with us and as LCP Alumni.

I have worked as a Visiting Academic at the Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the Demand Chain Management Group since 1987. LinkedIn shows 1985 but that is the only way to make it come second on LinkedIn! In that time I have had the pleasure to work with academic leaders such as Professors Martin Christopher and Richard Wilding through the white hot period of developing supply chain thinking. I have contributed to Research Clubs on Benchmarking and Agility, delivered in company training with a range of great names such as P&G, J&J, APMoller-Maersk and Heineken. I have also contributed to research projects, particularly on supply chain risk and resilience and global sourcing. I was appointed Visiting Professor in 2006 and most recently held a part time executive role as head of supply chain research between 2012 and 2013. Between, 2010 and 2012, LCP and Cranfield cooperated on a major research project to apply agent based modelling to the challenge of national freight transport planning and design. I worked with PW International for nearly 6 years on Distribution and Logistics Projects with key clients being Harrods, House of Fraser, Littlewoods, The Co-Op. Unilever, IBM. This was where I cut my teeth on modelling and analysis and identified that the emergence of personal computing would transform the ability to analyse and design supply chains. It was that insight that lead me to set up LCP as an independent brand.

I was engaged to work on a project to forecast the world wide demand for Rolls Royce Diesel Engines spare parts. Using punch tape technology and dial up modems, we wrote a model that generated a remarkably accurate forecast and explained the fluctuations in demand that had been experienced. it was this work that gave me the motivation to and interest in modelling of complex systems and their supply chains. It set me on the path of consultancy.

I joined Christie-Tyler following my Masters at the LBS as PA to the Chairman and to do business development. I was then appointed Managing Director of a new subsidiary called Kingshall Furniture Ltd which was a start up attempting to combine entering a new market with new products and technology. There were probably one or two too many 'news'. However it gave me a taste for start ups and an understanding of the issues that I carried with me to LCP.
