I am currently a software systems track Master's student of Computer Science in Columbia Engineering. I earned my bachelor's degree in computer science in ShanghaiTech (one year in MIT). Good grades in top institutions guarantee my solid foundation in computer science. I always have a passion for programming, and I hope that passion can be my power in the career of an IT engineer.My bachelor's degree was in ShanghaiTech, a newly founded, small, international, and elaborate institute in Shanghai. I took courses including computer architecture, computational theory, algorithms and data structures and etc. I had good grades in all the courses. Besides, I had been an undergrad TA of a graduate course, leader of a 20 people support education program, and co-organizer of a hackathon, which cultivates my leadership and communication skills.During my third year at MIT, I took optimization methods, AI, and inference and remained excellent academic performance. In my fourth undergraduate year, I followed Prof. Kewei Tu in a project on span representation. I rewrote thousands of lines of code in Pytorch to optimize a model from an ACL paper and to implement new functions. In this project, I learned about how to read and developed others’ code, cooperate and make commits with others and make weekly reports on my progress. This project can be found on my GitHub.Currently, in Columbia engineering, I have chosen the software system track to broaden my knowledge in the field. The course I will be taking includes advanced software engineering, networks, database, etc. For the first semester, I got two A+'s with a total GPA of 4.17. With multiple areas of background in computer science combined, I believe I am ready to tackle any kind of question and ready to pursue the career of an IT engineer.
