After starting Overleaf as an individual contributor to enable the integration of acquired technology, I grew into a leadership role where I’ve built and continue to lead a seven-member engineering team from scratch, fostering individual growth and teamwork. While I have grown my leadership skills, I have remained hands-on and focused on technical strategy.During this time, we have revamped legacy frontend systems to improve the core user experience to drive the consistent, high-growth of the software. I've led projects such as rewriting the frontend application from legacy Angular v1 into React, and replaced our core editor with CodeMirror v6.I’ve also focused on enhancing the developer experience while partnering with product and UX folks, steering roadmap development to prioritise developer efficiency and champion user-focused development.

I navigated a fast-paced start-up environment to drive the transition from Overleaf v1 to v2 after the ShareLaTeX acquisition to integrate two complex products in just two years. Adapted quickly to different tech stacks, going from jQuery with some React, CodeMirror v5, Rails and Postgres; to Angular v1, Ace, Node.js and MongoDB.I delivered critical projects such as migrating the Rich Text editor across platforms, transforming the codebase from legacy CoffeeScript, replacing a legacy build system with webpack, and adopting standardised code style through Prettier & ESLint.As a frontend expert & tech mentor, I led engaging lunch-and-learns, guiding towards best practices and championed professional development.

Back in the Radweb days, I wore my developer hat with pride. Here's a snapshot:I designed and developed web applications using Backbone.js, Laravel PHP, and MySQL and gave core web application components a facelift, using a command bus architecture and automated testing to ensure robust, optimised, and sustainable code.
