Alastair is an Emergency Physician at University Hospital Geelong, and a Digital Health Advisor to the Department of Health, Victoria.He is passionate about lifelong education; regularly providing expert insights to students, clinicians and industry in health informatics and critical care at national and international events. Alastair is an Affiliate Senior Lecturer at Deakin University, an APLS (Advanced Paediatric Life Support) Instructor, an Accredited Simulation Instructor with the NHET SIM Program and a co-founder of TIME Conference: a forum that aims to bridge the divide between clinical care, technology and innovation.Through the development and implementation of new, disruptive technologies in the healthcare industry, Alastair seeks to break down the barriers holding back progress in the delivery of a new frontier in patient-centred, connected, clinical care.Alastair is a Director and co-founder of Haptisim: a medical technology consultancy and product developer, a founding member and Affiliate Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and a Certified Health Informatician. In the current climate emergency Alastair strongly advocates for environmental sustainability and rewilding: placing these values at the core of all his projects. He lives on the Surf Coast, Victoria with his wife and two children making the most of the spectacular natural landscape: surfing, sailing, and SCUBA diving in the Southern Ocean, skiing the Victorian Alps, and cycling, hiking, and planting trees in The Great Otway National Park.
