I am a commercial litigator. Much of my work relates to complex commercial and investment disputes involving loans and bonds, fraudulent transfers and preferences, the fiduciary duties of officers and directors, commercial fraud, and civil RICO. I also do substantial work with intellectual property — particularly breach of contract, trade secret, and copyright claims. Over the past seventeen years, I've taken dozens of complex cases to resolution in federal and state trial courts nationwide, in bankruptcy courts, and in nearly every federal court of appeals. I've handled merits-stage briefing in 10 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and petition-stage briefing in many more. A particular focus of my practice is complex cross-border matters. I often litigate international disputes in U.S. courts, frequently work with and coordinates foreign counsel prosecuting actions abroad, and have provided expert testimony on U.S. law in foreign judicial proceedings. I have also represented foreign and U.S. elected officials and their staff as well as senior executive branch officials in civil and criminal actions and congressional investigations.I began my career at McKinsey & Co. and then spent time in management at Teach For America before transitioning to a legal career. I split my professional time between New York and Washington, DC, but spend most of my personal time with my community in Rockville, MD.
