I am a third year student studying accounting at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. In high school we were encouraged to try new courses for electives. I chose an Intro to Business course because I wanted to try something new and take a class I had never taken before. I excelled in the accounting unit. After that course I took multiple accounting classes and enjoyed all of them. I hope to continue my learning at Kelley as well as exploring the other opportunities available. I believe trying new things is a very important for being successful. I've gained numerous skills and experiences from branching out. Such as being the leader for a volunteer group, Social Action Project. I learned how to stay organized, plan events and recruit new members. Being a cheerleader for four years taught me things as well. Seeing how hard work and dedication makes a routine successful, or keeping an optimistic mindset keeps spirits up for the whole team. I hope and want to continue my education in accounting as well as my experiences at Indiana University.
