Along with 4 others, I co-founded Arima Genomics as an academic spinout from Bing Ren's lab at UCSD with technology from Job Decker's lab at UMass. As Director and COO, I helped carry out research contracts for Big Pharma, raise funding from NIH SBIRs, and develop RUO kits for phasing and novel genome sequencing. I left my employment in late 2017 when NanoCellect received Series B financing led by Illumina Ventures. I left Arima's board in early 2020 at the Series A financing that was led by Agilent.

Cellular and molecular biology and electrophysiology of the developing spinal cord with Dr. Samuel Pfaff (AAAS) in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at The Salk. I studied how Central Pattern Generator circuitry of the lumbar spinal cord develops as a model of neural circuitry resulting in 8 publications including Cell, Science, and Neuron.

Doctoral research in nuclear hormone receptor biology with Ronald M. Evans, PhD (NAS, NAM, AAAS) at The Salk and HHMI resulting in 10 publications.

Rotation Student in Larry Goldstein, PhD (NAS, AAAS) lab at UCSD studying the neuroscience of tyrosine hydroxylase / catecholamine-deficient drosophila.

Characterized transgenic mouse models of neurologic disease in the laboratory of Richard Palmiter, PhD (NAS, AAAS) in the Department of Biochemistry and HHMI at The University of Washington, Seattle. This resulted in 2 publications.

SweetSpot's goal is to help clinics make the most of their time and their patient’s data.• Helped pivot from a consumer product to a clinician and EMR focus.• Acquired by Dexcom as a wholly-owned subsidiary for $8.5M in 2012.
