I have analysed spatial transcriptomic data for the Laboratory of Aggregation and Glial Response at Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience.

My main role was to ensure that the Royal Society Wolfson Genomics Laboratory operated smoothly; and to this end I: - Streamlined the day to day operations of the Genomics Laboratory by uniforming SOPs, centralising purchases, and establishing a system for the use of the equipment. - Took charge of maintaining and running an Illumina MiSeq sequencer and helped with the design of experiments, which boosted the publication of several metabarcoding works. - Organised a tissue and DNA sample collection containing ca. ten thousand samples. - Co-supervised seven Master's degree projects in the field of environmental DNA.In the second half of 2020 I was part of a team investigating the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2in UK using sewage samples. Together with another member of the team, I wrote the protocols, codes of practice and risk assessments, set up the laboratory for conducting the work, and run a set of pilot experiments.

As a PDRA, I conducted a project involving RNA-seq and qPCR analysis of differentially expressed genes that resulted in a first-author publication in Botany Letters (https://doi.org/10.1080/23818107.2017.1415818).

“Molecular analysis of ovarian resorption induced by hydric stress in Blattella germanica” The purpose of this work was to describe the effects of the lack of water in the ovaries of an insect model. Morphologically, I described the ovarian resorption induced by water deprivation using fluorescence microscopy. At a molecular level, I analysed markers differentially expressed upon hydric stress, such as aquaporins, microRNAs and chromatin remodelling factors using a broad range of cell and molecular techniques.
