Aim: Regulation of hepatic lipid metabolism in Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).Tasks/techniques: Collection and processing of biological samples (blood, liver tissue, visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue, ateroma plaque). Isolation of mature adipocytes and stromovascular fraction in visceral adipose tissue. RNA and miRNA extraction from human tissue and cell cultures. Determination of gene expression by RT-qPCR. Protein quantification by Western blotting. ELISA assay. Cell culture techniques. Statistical Data Analysis. Writing scientific articles.Research lines:Inflammation, adipokines, metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes mellitus in obesity and morbid obesity. Proteomics and metabolomics of atherosclerotic arterial plaque. Gene expression and transcription factors in fatty liver. Endocannabinoid system and NASH.
