During September - December 2019 as a visiting lecturer, I gave a machine learning course at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. I taught students how to apply classification algorithms to real life data. I demonstrated in R and the course students repeated in Python. A year earlier (September - December 2018), I gave an overview course on the basics of machine learning. With the students, we explored the classification, prediction and forecasting algorithms and techniques in R and apply them to real life cases.

I took part in building a society of highly professional ICT vendors who were together aiming at serving their customers more effectively and reliably. The society was offering sourcing and subcontracting services in ares such as JavaEE and Web development. In the beginning my tasks was to build a reliable, highly responsive and scalable network of software vendors. Later I also became actively involved in customer acquisition and sales of software development services.

At Solita, I was responsible for developing and managing Solita Ltd's network of HR suppliers and partners. The network consisted of more than 30 active ICT companies around South Finland, Western Russia, Poland and Estonia, and it aimed at bringing higher value to Solita's customers. In Solita, I served the business units and projects that needed highly qualified ICT professionals. I was also responsible for managing and facilitating a team of nearly 40 subcontractors working in Solita's various projects.I also planned and managed ICT projects for private and public sector. In some of the projects, I worked with subcontractors (both national and international) from our suppliers' network. I also took part in offering continues support and maintenance services to our customers. The technologies used in these projects have varied from EPiSErver to Java EE.

At Alessa, we were building an information system for the road infrastructure domain. In addition to the involvement in the development of that system, I was also responsible for the following activities: * Integration of software development processes, methods, practices, technologies and tools* Development of internal processes* Agile software development (definition, design, implementation, management)* Recruiting and training of software developers* Team leadership* Quality assurance

In that position at Tieto, I was responsible among other things for the following activities: * Definition and development of a .NET based system for forest industry* Pre-sales activities in Russia for manufacturing industry

I was managing and conducting research in a project aimed at studying the challenges of globalizing software engineering. The project was financed by several ICT industry companies.

During June 2000 and June 2004 I had several full-time and half-time positions at Lappeenranta University of Technology (department of Information Technology) as research assistant, teaching assistant and teacher in the fields of higher mathematics, machine vision and software engineering.
