• Support current research projects through application of rheology, microscopy, and other analytical methods in correlation with property testing with a focus on fundamental structure-property relationship• Formulate cementitious flexible, waterproof coating based on styrene/acrylic latex polymers• Characterize latexes, coatings with analytical tools such as GC, DSC, FT-IR, DMA, DLS, Tinius Olsen tensile, SEM/EDS• Develop analytical test methods to help business needs including polymer degradation, titration etc.• Perform semicontinuous seeded emulsion polymerization• Provide guidance and oversight technicians

Dissertation title: Synthesis and Characterization of Covalent Adaptable Networks Comprised of Dynamic imine and Aminal Bonds• Designed and demonstrated polyimine and polyaminal thermosets can be reprocessed and recycled.• Determined thermoset properties including mechanical, adhesive, thermal properties, self-healing behavior• Studied model reactions to simulate polymerization kinetics and thermodynamics• Compared the trending of kinetics and thermodynamics between model reactions and thermosets • Conducted research on structures and properties of biocompatible polypeptoid that could be used to develop new products as drug delivery system or enhance existing ones as polypeptide replacement• Investigated morphology of self-assembled polypeptoids with side chain crystallinity effect.
