In my current role, I am a lead for Swisslog's corporate SCDC in (1) discovering & specifying, (2) assessing justification for, and (3) developing implementation plans for - enhancements to our core software, to the ends of operating automated material-handling systems most effectively given conditions & uncertainties that can be either queried or mined.My focus is on using OR analytics methods to reveal opportunities for value-added methodological enhancements, and formulating actionable schedules for integrating so-revealed computations into the Swisslog software & controls platform. In short, finding new places/ways to get raw data, new methods of turning this data into useful information, and (most importantly) making this information pay dividends for Swisslog's customers.

In this role I used simulations and other sophisticated analytics tools to refine automated material-handling concepts for clients in need of cost-saving and/or capacity-enhancing warehousing and distribution solutions within their logistics infrastructures.On an interim basis (Oct. 2012 to March 2013), I managed the proposal development team of systems engineers.

Stewardship (between permanent directors) of company's team of systems engineers, who undertake costing, RFQ composition, quote vetting, and proposal development, for all solutions proposed to Swisslog's customers.

In this role I developed a tool that interfaced with many of the company's data systems (payroll, ELS, Ordering, Procurement, etc.) to gather data used to derive optimal slotting. This tool was used by analysts in a team I built to deploy it in the various warehouses of the company, to the end of cost reduction. In full deployment phase, this combination is estimated to be worth $5-10M/year in cost reduction.

In this role I conferred with customers, analyzed data, defined requirements, designed a solution, and built the RoI case.

In this role I refined concepts through value-engineering & material flow analysis, solicited & gap-checked third-party supplier quotations, and documented to clients Swisslog’s provisions & obligations.

In this role, I took ownership of all data warehouses, analytics, and report distribution pertaining to the furniture side of the WSI business (mainly Pottery Barn, as well as other specialty brands). Weekly reports I concepted, refined with executive leadership, and disbursed from incorporation of raw feed updates, enabled corporate leadership visibility to cost & service KPIs within the distribution network.
