As Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, I led the legal, corporate governance, compliance, quality/regulatory, and government affairs functions at emerging technology, digital health and medical products company, Owlet (NYSE: OWLT). Owlet provides a family-centric data platform to provide live health and wellness insights to give more peace of mind and health data to caregivers. During my time, Owlet was able to obtain the first of its kind FDA authorization and European certifications for its OTC health notifications functionality on its Dream Sock and 510(k) clearance for its BabySat Monitoring System, while navigating a post-SPAC IPO, bet-the-company legal challenges and PIPE financings for its reviving business.

As General Counsel and Compliance Officer, I served as the chief legal and compliance executive for the North American region of Ottobock, a global, industry leader in prosthetics, orthotics and mobility solutions, medical devices and patient care, helping to restore mobility for patients world-wide. I also had the pleasure of leading, evolving and developing a P&L (healthcare billing business) and regulatory-QA departments, along with playing a key part in business development and strategic business initiatives, such as the creation of new distribution channels and patient care clinic networks through M&A and integration, within the region.

I also served as an Associate Counsel at Zimmer Spine (2008-2010), and a Senior Counsel, Latin America & Biologics (2010-2012), where I was responsible for Legal and Compliance affairs for the Central/South America region, helping to establish and manage ZMH's enhanced global anti-corruption program and serve as division counsel for Zimmer's Spine and Biologics/Early Intervention businesses.

I joined Gray Cary's first office outside of California based in Austin in 1998 as one of its founding attorneys. My work spanned all aspects of corporate law practice, including public company governance, capital market transactions, corporate formation and planning, equity compensation, securities, venture financing, mergers & acquisitions, distressed company work, partnerships and strategic alliances, general business transactions and technology licensing transactions. I worked with a broad range of technology clients, in the semiconductor, software, medical device, telecom, services, tech manufacturing, networking, retail and restaurant industries, as the primary outside counsel, which exposed me to other legal issues, including employment, litigation, regulatory and operational matters.
