This is a new… Show more In the Quality Department, learnt the following basic skills of- Incoming Quality Control- Outgoing Quality Control- In-Process Quality Control- Measurement using the following tools - OGP - Vernier Caliper - Profile ProjectorAfter 6 months in the quality department, I was transferred to assist in the new project that was awarded to the company. The project is the processing of HP logo with automated assembly onto the die-cut adhesive. This is a new project for the company and also the new Nameplate Logo that HP has implemented.The initial phase was designing the cutting process of the plastic nameplate to remove the runners. Improved the process from manual cutting to pneumatic driven cutters that increased output by reducing the number of operators from 8 to 2.In the automation assembly of the nameplate with the adhesive, I have worked with the machine designer over 1 month to improve the overall design and reduce the redundancy time identified in the assembly machine. The initial designed capacity of the machine was 10k per 8 hour shift but the improved version was able to output of 30k per 8 hour shift.I was transferred again to the hot stamping department. The department hot stamps aluminium foils onto Philips' nameplate which are used in all their domestic appliances.I have manage to make the following improvement:- reduced the model change over timing by more than 50% (from average of 4 hours/model change to less than 2 hours). - this has increased the capacity of the 4 hot stamping presses from a monthly average of 3 millions parts to 6.5 millions parts. This improvement provide our sales and customer service team with added capacity to take in more orders. Show less
