Currently our Special Investigations Unit is tasked with fugitive apprehension, investigations into large scale drug trafficking organizations and conducting enforcement on various "hot button" criminal issues that frequently arise and impact our community. For example, hate group vandalism of downtown murals (we established 24/7 surveillance and caught the perpetrator in the act) ... conducting Street Racing Emphasis' targeting the organizers of intersection takeover events, etc., and SET Missions targeting drug dealers that are specifically dealing to homeless encampments.Between Jan 2022 and present we have arrested 96 violent offenders and murder suspects wanted on bulletins, we have taken down 47 different DTO's (consisting of 3 or more people), and 115 different street racers... This doesn't include other incidental arrests for warrants, narcotics or vandalism such as the hate group vandal.A portion of our DTOs were actually "manufacturing" operations and in the past 18 months we've taken down two fentanyl pill pressing operations, seizing several hundred thousands of pills, and several large scale illicit marijuana grow operations involving multiple residences and commercial buildings, as well as trucking the packaged product across the country to states like New York, New Jersey, etc.

I am an Team Leader on the SWAT team and currently assigned to Special Investigations. Primary responsiblities are High Risk Warrant Services, Tactical Operations, Covert Surveillance, Executive Protection, Hostage Rescue, Counterterrorism, Scout and Raid Planning, Narcotics Investigations, etc. Additionally, I am the Master CT/DT Instructor for our agency, and teach tactics. Previously I was a department First Aid Instructor.I am currently a Washington State Certified Master CT/DT Instructor and am a certified instructor in the following disciplines:Master Rappel Instructor, CT/DT Field Instructor, Level 1 Control Tactics, Level 2 Defensive Tactics, Ground Survival, OC Spray Instructor, Impact Tools, Edged Weapons Defense, Tool/Weapon Retention, Reality Based Training, Controlled FORCE Levels 1 through 3, Don Gulla's Arrestling Instructor Level 1 and 2, SWAT Basic, DEA Basic, Drug Interdiction, Undercover Operations, Law Enforcement Mountain Operations School, etc...Additionally I am certified through the NTOA in Armored Rescue Vehicle Operation, as a SWAT Team Leader, and in Advanced SWAT Tactics and Operations.I have participated in literally hundreds of warrant services and have created ops orders and conducted warrant services for such entities as the FBI, US Secret Service, DEA, ATF as well as local and State entities. I've participated in actual active shooter incidents to include the Tacoma Mall shooting of 2005, the manhunt for Ranger Margaret Anderson's murderer on Mt Rainier (Jan 01, 2012) actual hostage rescue incidents, armed barricaded subjects, mobile take-downs, vehicle takedowns, Buy/Busts, etc.

I was employed as a Quality Assurance Manager for the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group 737/757 product lines. I managed crews at the Renton, Auburn and Frederickson Plants. I was present on the Renton Final Assembly factory floor during 9-11. We watched the events unfold live via satellite. It was a life-changing moment for me and at that time I decided to go into law enforcement/special operations based upon my prior military experience. The process took 2 years to complete, and my pay was intially cut in half, but it is something I needed to do! I loved Boeing and the people, but I personally felt I needed to become more directly involved in protecting/serving others.
