During my time at JKMC Architects as part of a small team I worked on a number of both commercial and residential large scale projects. This included the city applications for Brentwood Town Center I & II,a mixed use redevelopment of an existing mall, comprising of 6 floors of parking, 46,500 m² Commercial space below two 56 floor residential towers. My role centered around the parking and commercial unit aspects of the development. Duties included liaising with consultants and clients to achieve the specific requirements set out by both the city, building code and the proposed tenants prior to the submittal deadlines. The project is currently under construction.Following Brentwood, I worked on the rezoning and development of a city center site at 1445-1455 West Georgia Street, Vancouver for the development of a 515ft (157m) tower, comprising approximately 120 high end residential units above 9 floors of parking on a site of only 1687 m² . As part of a three person team we implemented a BIM workflow and following the initial design phase all elements of the building were completed in Revit. My duties on the project included BIM model implementation, adaption and management, initial application of bylaw compliance, sole responsibility for achieving a workable parking scheme on an extremely small site, development of parametric framework upon which the irregular shape of the building could developed, as well as liaising with consultants and client. The project is still in progress.My time at JKMC afforded me the opportunity to gain an advanced working knowledge of Revit and to assist in the implementation of office wide policies and standards for the use of BIM across all future JKMC projects. My duties on an office wide scale also included I.T assistance, 3D Printing and FTP site management.

During my time with DJLA I specialized in FISP/LL11 reports for D.O.B. submission. D.O.B. work applications. Landmark approval for restoration work on preserved buildings. CAD detailing and on-site inspection of both restoration and new build projects. Project Management including all tendering and ancillary paperwork such as PAA’s, C.O’s and requisition orders. As well as capital improvement projects.

As a continuation of my thesis, together with five other U.C.D graduates we formed the ‘Cowshed Collective’, and were responsible for the design and construction of a small cowshed/milking parlor for the Camphill Community, which we constructed in parallel with intensive construction workshops which we operated. This project was featured in a number of national and international publications.

Assisted in the construction and rendering of the opening exhibition of the Venice Biennale for Grafton Architects, Dublin, Ireland, based on their own projects in Lima, Peru, Montpellier and Toulouse as well as the works of Mendes da Rocha.

As part of a design committee to celebrate the centenary of the UCD School of Architecture, I was responsible for the design, construction and installation of a commemorative ceiling listing all former graduates of the school, within the main lecture theater, forming the center piece of the schools exhibition.

Architectural intern at DKAD. Involving the design, preparation of planning permission submissions and drafting of construction tender drawings. I was also involved in the marketing of the company both online and in print media.

Scaffold Operative which involved in the erection & demolition of high rise scaffolding structures for refurbishment and new build projects.
