About Alberta Griffin

As the President of AGS Data Analytics, I serve as the lead consultant in our companies evaluation, measurement and research division. In addition to the work at AGS, I am involved in multiple data projects investigating social and epidemiological variables that impact individual and community outcomes. Additional areas of research include: GIS, spatial analysis, data mining and epidemiological surveillance.     Head Start Nutritionist, Kalamazoo County Head Start My responsibilities included reviewing nutrition assessment forms for all children in the Head Start Program. I created individualized nutrition care plans for any child with a food allergy and oversaw the implementation of the plan in the classroom. Continually, I monitored 11 sites to ensure they were current with CACFP and Head Start performance standards by conducting 2 food safety audits per classroom a year. Audits include checking food handling practices, adherence to licensing requirements and maintaining equipment inventory for 21 classrooms. Lastly, I managed the monthly food budget for the Head Start Program. WIC Program Coordinator, Kalamazoo County WIC Program I managed the day to day operations for the program as well as assisted with the in service training of staff. I completed performance appraisals and regularly met with the HCS Director to report on program functions. I provided nutrition consultations to clients and prepared meal coupons for families. I worked to developed new ways to reach and educate pregnant women and children under the age of 5 and prepared the program for HIPAA compliance by the end of 2003. Overall I managed a staff of 10 and was responsible for over 1,200 clients and their children receiving WIC services.
