Albert B. Kelly is President/CEO and Founder of Gateway Community Action Partnership, Inc. The agency founded in 1984 has grown to become one of the largest in New Jersey with an annual budget of over 50 million. The agency serves more than 56,000 low to moderate income people through more than 40 programs at sites in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties in southern New Jersey and employs over 700 people. Kelly has volunteered and has been appointed to various community boards including: elected Mayor for the City of Bridgeton in July 2010 winning 76 percent of the vote, re-elected Mayor running unopposed in November 2014. He currently holds the following board memberships: Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce; Cumberland County Improvement Authority; Minor Adjustments Re-entry program, County Workforce Investment Board; Cumberland County Empowerment Zone, Cumberland Development Corporation, and PNC Bank Advisory Board. He is former member of Inspira Health Network Board of Directors and National Region II Representative Community Action Partnership Board of Directors. He is very proud of helping start the Sunday Soup Kitchen Program which served over 30,000 meals over ten years. He is also proud of being part of the followings: Walter Rand Institute Advisory Board; Code Blue Homeless Shelter Team and Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative. He was recently elected to be President of the NJ Urban Mayors Association following his year as President of the NJ League of Municipalities from November 2016 through November 2017 and past president of NJ Conference of Mayors. He is also proud of being selected to be Co-Chair of the NJ Governor’s Agriculture Transition Team in 2017. The Bridgeton native is a graduate of Trenton State College (College of New Jersey) and has worked in the state and municipal court system. He has received recognition, honors, and awards at local, state and national levels for his outstanding dedication to human and community services.
