Studioninedots was established by Albert Herder, Vincent van der Klei, Arie van der Neut and Metin van Zijl in 2010 in Amsterdam. It is an international operating office wo sees architecture as a reflection of contemporary urban culture which touches upon trends, movements, cultures, conflict, diversity, change, interaction, surprise, opportunities, threats, density, ecology and complexity. In its architecture and urban design the office integrates urban processes to get resourceful answers to current design queries.

The Amsterdam Academy of Architecture trains students to practice architecture, urban design and landscape architecture as skills situated at the interface of fine art, building and civil engineering, natural and cultural technology, and the spatial sciences. The Master's Degree awarded by the Academy gives graduates direct entry to the Register of Architects.

HVDN architects, previously Herder en Van der Neut architects, is a private partnership between the architects Albert Herder and Arie van der Neut. In 1999 they combined their talents in order to improve the quality and depth of their work. hvdn architects has since developed into a highly educated and technically adept group with a driving passion for architecture.
