Maximize merchandise (consumer electronics and furniture) profitability and customer satisfaction through a culture of service excellence, speed and reliability in the Supply Chain team and 3rd Party Transportation Service Providers. Managed a department of 50 executives in merchandize demand planning, warehousing, distribution and customer service to manage supply, storage, delivery, assembly of consumer electronics and furniture. Responsible for managing 3rd Party Logistics/Transportation service provider, review their processes and ensure achievement of agreed service levels.Achievements: Negotiated an improved “Contract” with Kerry Logistics based on a optimized storage capacity (150% effifiency), a reduced storage rate of S$21.50/pallet (down from S$60), coupled with lower handling rates. The revamped warehousing contract generated an annualized cost savings of S$600K.  Replaced main transportation contractor (PTC) with a dedicated group of transporters based on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Re-calibrated distribution service level, eliminated “minimum delivery points”, furniture assembly charges and reduced cost/drop by 20% ($31/drop to $26/drop), resulting in an annualized cost savings of S$700K in distribution. Digitalized and implemented COURTS Home Delivery System (HDS) based on “Dynamic Routing Algorithm” to maximize Truck-Load-Efficiency and to maintain a healthy Quality/Cost Efficiency. The HDS enabled customer to “Track and Trace” delivery journey resulting in improved customer experience (CX).

Leading, developing and executing an end-to-end supply chain and network strategy for the distribution of automotive batteries in the Asia Pacific region.  Managed a multi-national team of 15 supply chain managers/executives based in Australia, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, operating weekly Demand and Supply Cycles. Led in monthly Executive S&OP meetings to gather Senior Management acceptance in Sales, Procurement and Production plans.  Accountable for the implementation of demand planning and DRP systems to improve demand forecast accuracy and to maintain an optimum inventory level of 21-23 DOH (i.e. safety stocks) to prevent stock-outs. Achievements: Managed the outsourcing of warehousing/delivery operations to CJ Logistics (3PL), resulting in a flexible and asset-light operation catering to seasonal demands and inventories of 12,000 SKUs. This generated an annualized cost savings of US$1.5Mil for the Korean (Gumi) manufacturing plant. Negotiated and concluded with China factories on a “Formalized Operational Cost Structure” to import/supply SLI batteries to ASEAN region. Ensured cost visibility and tax-avoidance of 23.52%, and concurrently maintained steady supply/inventory build-up to avoid stock-out/sales-loss.

Leadership in Strategic Operational Modeling, Continuous Improvement through Lean Six Sigma and Operational Improvement Tools. Led a team of 12 logistics and demand managers/executives across international entities in China, India, Japan and Singapore, focusing on finalizing weekly Demand and Supply Cycles. Accountable for sales, inventory and operations (S&OP) plans and maintaining an optimal inventory reordering/management process.  Rationalized and set up Sales Promotional Strategies for Dealers/Distributors and Incentive Schemes to raise TOP-line sales growth in ASEAN, India, Japan and China for European parts. Restructure the sales strategy for the promising Asia Pacific region, taking into account how automotive parts (pistons, filters, etc) were marketed and sold through the channels (i.e. distributors, dealers and work-shop levels). Achievements: Rationalized and negotiated with Japan manufacturer / Sankyu (3PL) on a Total Supply Solution for global distribution of automotive parts. Achieved overall cost-reduction of 15% through logistics optimization and contract negotiation. Successfully concluded a Tender Exercise and identified most suitable Distributor and 3PL to operate Total Warehousing and Distribution services throughout Indian sub-continent. Participated in M&A projects (India), in due diligence and integration of Supply Chain Processes.

Strategic leadership in developing and implementing the overall supply chain strategy to ensure success in company’s financial and operational performance. Led a workforce of 175 employees, managing Inventory, warehousing and distribution of Consumer Electronics Goods and Spare Parts (including Sales), averaging Annual Revenue of USD 130 Mil with Annual Net Income of USD 2 Mil.Achievements:Consumer Electronics Goods Distribution Business/Logistics:  Strategically revamped and consolidated the entire logistics operations (multiple sites) under one roof. Achieved Cost-Savings of US$ 2 Mil in annual operational costs, reduced inventories (from 45 to 28 days-on-hand).Repair Parts Business/Reverse Logistics: Restructured the Spare/Repair Parts Sales and optimized Supply Chain business (sited in Singapore) into an effective, cost-efficient distribution solutions for the 700+ Service Centers in Asia Pacific Region and Regional Repair Hubs globally. Regional Logistics Officer (Asia Pacific): Established the ASEAN Regional Distribution Centre in Malaysia for distribution of consumer electronics goods to sales companies regionally. Rationalized Oceania (Australia/New Zealand) Logistics and migrated in-house logistics operations to 3PL, resulting in storage flexibility, minimizing fixed costs and achieving cost-reduction of 18%.
