CurrentLitigation Experience* I have argued motions in federal court, including Markman hearings and other pre-trial disputes in patent and trade secret litigation matters involving semiconductors, software, electronics, and automotive technologies.* I have drafted successful Federal Circuit and Fifth Circuit appellate briefs and numerous dispositive and discovery motions in district court cases.* I have managed electronic discovery in large cases with discovery periods of 2+ years, including document preservation, document collection, document production, and attorney-client privilege.* I have been part of a trial team for a 2-week long trial in an insurance recovery dispute.* I have tried 12 jury cases to verdict as a pro bono prosecutor for the City of Houston.* I have taken lead or supervisory drafting roles in the preparation and filing of over ten inter pares review petitionsTransactional Experience* I represented a multinational petrochemicals debtor company in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, negotiating numerous purchase agreements and cross-licenses of patent, trademark, and trade secrets rights that enabled the debtor to successfully dispose of its assets.* I have managed the intellectual property aspects of numerous asset purchases and sales, private equity investments, and financing transactions for companies in the energy, chemicals, manufacturing, software, and finance industries.* I have overseen open source software audits and advised clients on open source risks both within the context of M&A due diligence and in normal compliance activities* I regularly draft and negotiate IP assignments, licenses, NDAs, and joint development agreements. Counseling/Prosecution Experience* I have counseled clients on pre-litigation intellectual property matters, including freedom to operate matters.* I provide advice to clients regarding the management of their intellectual property rights.* I have prepared and prosecuted a patent from application to issuance.
